Great Highland Bagpipe players, being generally of Scottish descent,
frequently look for competitions with other pipers to gauge how well they are playing. They meet at highland games around the world to play in front
of judges, who then declare who played best that day.
I compete, and have won awards, at some of the largest gatherings of
pipers in the United States. Most notably Stone Mountain in Georgia, and
Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina.
I have played for the Duke and Duchess of Hamilton, the Louisiana State
Senate, parish Presidents, Renaissance Festivals, block parties, countless
weddings and funerals, parties, and, well, you get the idea.
